Bikini laser hair removal uses selected laser energy to reduce hair growth in an agreed external bikini-line area. Multiple sessions are usually required because hair grows in cycles, and permanent removal of every hair cannot be guaranteed.
Treatment boundaries are agreed privately before the session. The device and settings are selected according to skin tone, hair colour, hair thickness, medical history and recent tanning.
The external bikini area is shaved as instructed, cleansed and treated using suitable settings with eye protection. Internal mucosal tissue is not treated. Cooling may be used for comfort.
Consultation reviews medicines, hormonal concerns, skin tone, tanning, hair-removal history and the exact external area. A patch test may be recommended.
Best response is usually seen with pigmented hair. Blonde, grey, white or red hair may respond poorly. Active infection, wounds, recent tanning, pregnancy or photosensitising medicines can affect timing.
A consultation is important because results, session numbers, downtime and suitability vary. Active infection, pregnancy, certain medicines, a tendency to form keloids, or an underlying medical condition may change the recommended plan.
A course is commonly needed, followed by maintenance for some patients. Hormones and individual hair cycles affect response, and complete permanent removal cannot be promised.
Temporary redness, follicular swelling, sensitivity or pigment change can occur. Avoid heat, friction, swimming and active products for the advised period.
Cost depends on the agreed treatment boundary, device, hair density and number of sessions. The current fee and any package are confirmed at consultation.
