Standard microneedling creates precise microchannels. MNRF additionally delivers radiofrequency energy through insulated or non-insulated needles at selected depths. PRP contains concentrated platelets and is applied or delivered according to the planned protocol. These are related but distinct procedures.
After skin assessment, photographs and numbing, sterile needles are used at planned depths. For PRP, a small blood sample is processed in a centrifuge. The doctor explains whether standard microneedling or MNRF better fits the scar type and skin tone.
Suitable candidates may include adults with acne scars or textural concerns. Active acne infection, herpes, blood or platelet disorders, anticoagulant use, keloid tendency and recent isotretinoin require careful review.
