Laser toning uses selected low-fluence laser settings to target appropriate pigmentation concerns over a planned course. It is not suitable for every type of pigmentation, and incorrect selection can cause darkening or light spots.
Pigmentation must be diagnosed before laser toning because melasma, sun spots, post-acne marks and deeper pigment respond differently. Device wavelength, skin tone, recent tanning and previous reactions influence suitability.
After assessment and eye protection, the selected laser is applied using settings planned for the pigment and skin tone. Treatment may be combined with suitable skincare or peels only when clinically appropriate.
The consultation documents the diagnosis, pigment depth, skin tone, medicines, sun exposure and prior treatment. A test area or alternative treatment may be advised.
Selected stable pigmentation may be suitable. Active infection, wounds, recent tanning, photosensitising medicines, pregnancy or a history of paradoxical pigmentation can affect eligibility.
A consultation is important because results, session numbers, downtime and suitability vary. Active infection, pregnancy, certain medicines, a tendency to form keloids, or an underlying medical condition may change the recommended plan.
Multiple sessions may be required and results vary. Melasma and post-inflammatory pigmentation can recur; permanent clearance cannot be guaranteed.
Temporary redness, warmth, dryness, darkening, light spots or irritation may occur. Use sun protection and follow the prescribed skincare plan.
Cost depends on treatment area, diagnosis, device, wavelength and session plan. A quotation is provided after pigmentation assessment.

Not necessarily. Laser toning describes a treatment approach, while Pico refers to pulse duration and device technology.
It may be considered in selected cases, but melasma can worsen with heat or inflammation and requires cautious assessment.
There is no universal number. It depends on diagnosis, pigment depth, device and response.
